Gestartet: Googles Second Life

Google startet eine virtuelle Welt: "Lively" ist seit heute online. Das sollte nicht überraschen, denn google hat bereits mit der Erstellung virtueller Güter (Sketchup) und Welten (Earth) Erfahrung gesammelt. Ob diese Produkte verbunden werden - also Sketchup-Objekte in Lively importiert werden oder Lively-Räume in eine Google-Earth-Umgebung eingebettet werden oder oder - ist bislang unklar.

User Generated Content ist geplant - Urheberrechtler dürfen sich also die Hände reiben. Die AGB sind erstaunlich wortkarg ausgestaltet. Google bemüht sich offenbar um eine umfassende Freistellung von Ersatzansprüchen:

"You agree to release Google, its affiliates, and their agents, contractors, officers, and employees (collectively, "Google Parties"), from all claims, demands, and damages (actual and consequential) arising out of or in any way connected with a dispute." (Quelle)

Außerdem sollen Rechte an Inhalten wohl beim Nutzer verbleiben:

"Google does not claim any ownership in any of the content, including any text, data, information, images, photographs, music, sound, video, or other material, that you upload, transmit or store in your Gmail account. Update: Spiegel Online widerspricht dem ersten Satz dieses Beitrags mit guten Gründen: Eine virtuelle Welt sei lively nicht, die einzelnen Chaträume nämlich nicht miteinander verbunden.
